Dirty. Old. Worn. As Selene Tanis walked through the market district of Corvis and looked around the city with her foreign-colored eyes, these are three of the many words that came to mind to describe what she was meticulously observing. Her knowledge of the city itself was poor, and at that moment at least, she had no burning desire to improve her self-evaluated rating of the so called City of Ghosts. Her only real desire at that moment was to see if there was a place she could clean up and finding a few merchants who could provide her with supplies and perhaps a few new articles of combat; should she deem them worthy of purchase of course.
Derby, Magnus, and Grinder were off on similar errands, all choosing to go their own way and take in the sites around the merchant district, such as they were, on their own. They would meet up at the Strangelight Workshop after they were finished and then perhaps grab a late lunch and go check on Kaar's condition. The good doctor was vehemently opposed to the companions disturbing the dwarf early in the morning after Grinder had brought them breakfast, when they quickly stopped by to see how his night went. Derby's argument of being 'practically family' apparently falling on deaf ears, the young thief harrumphed out of the office with a pout and made her way to various shoppes in search of parts and pieces to assemble a repeating pistol. Magnus went to a gunshop to look into buying a scope for 'Flint', and then spent most of the morning in the Workshop working on the painstakingly precise art of constructing runeshot ammunition for his magelock. Upstairs from the shop, Grinder was methodically involved in a ritual in order to increase his chances of success for his upcoming hearing scheduled for early evening. This involved a knife, some skin carvings, a bit of blood, and the occasional bellow induced primarily from the pain inherently suffered when one cuts into their own chest. The sporadic yelling would have garnered the attention of any one of the companions normally; but this was Magnus afterall, who could very likely shut out a train releasing its steam whistle not ten feet away if he made the decision to block it out.
After mixed success between the companions and their shopping escapades, Selene and Derby ran into each other in the market and did some people watching together when Derby couldn't ignore the long, thin box sticking out Selene's pack any longer. "When are you going to open the case?" the little thief said, wondering how the Elf could possibly hold off on discovering the secrets the long silver box might hold.

Shopping
Selene and Derby approached the temple doors to the Cathedral of Morrow and paused simultaneously and for their own reasons. Neither of the woman looked at each other, nor did they need to. They were too caught up in their own personal thoughts and struggles as they looked into the holy building and processed their conditions. Derby had been around Alexandra for well over a year now, but the subject of religion and religious beliefs had never really come up. Alexandra was a devout believer, and it was obvious by the gifts she possessed that Morrow must have been pleased with her; but the priestess was not the 'pushy' sort. As a matter of fact, Derby could not remember a single instance of Alex even once trying to extol the virtues of Morrow on any of the companions, let alone try to convert them or persuade them to follow the faith. She had heard her speaking to a pauper in Ceryl on occasion about her faith, but it had more to do with giving Morrow the praise for her generosity than Alex wanting the thanks herself. She overheard Maggy speaking to Selene at one point about Alex believing that spreading her faith was something she thought should be observed by her actions, not her words. It was of supreme comfort to the young thief that their Priestess had these convictions; as Derby was an apostate from the Menoth faith, and originally wondered if that would cause any friction between the two when Magnus and Alexandra first signed on with the team. It never had. But actually entering an actual cathedral of Morrow himself was barking up an entirely different tree for Sway. She wasn't entirely sure she wouldn't be struck down just for placing a foot in the place. Taking a deep breath, Derby stepped inside and took a few minutes to take in her surroundings.
Selene's thoughts were quite different than Derby's, although no less perplexing.
